De Oiled Rice Bran

Deoiled rice bran (DORB) is the solid by-product left after extracting oil from rice bran. Because most of the oil has been removed, it is higher in protein and fiber and much lower in fat than raw rice bran.

It is mainly used as:

  • Feed for cattle, buffaloes, poultry, pigs, and fish.

  • An ingredient in compound animal feeds because it provides protein, energy, vitamins, and minerals at a relatively low cost.

Typical composition (varies by manufacturer):

  • Crude protein: 13–16%

  • Residual oil: 1–3%

  • Crude fiber: 10–15%

  • Moisture: ≤12–13%
